The 100.000 licensees reached

For two years, the number of licensees in the country has stagnated around 96.000. If the number of plots of land in the country continued to increase, reaching 10.000 in this year 2023, it seemed that the number of licensees was stuck at 96.000. However, in a press release, the Spanish federation of padel (FEP) announced to have finally exceeded 100.000 licensees.

Since 10 years the number of licensees increased by 131%. THE padel in Spain, just like in France, was able to benefit from the COVID years to increase its number of players.

Women, more present than in France

In France, women are very little represented among licensees padel, with only 18% female players. In Spain, it is more than a third of licensees who are women. A statistic that the FEP did not hesitate to highlight.

On the other hand, one of the similarities with France is the age range of licensed players. In Spain too, the lack of young players is quite obvious: only 13% of licensees.

Finally, it is those aged 39 and over who are most represented among licensees padel in Spain : 49% of players fall into this category.
