Le World Padel Tour, the professional circuit of padel, will offer streaming this year in Spanish, but also in English !

This is very good news for our sport which is developing all over the world.

WPT's response to its critics

For many years, many fans and actors of the padel criticized this “curiosity” not to see the World Padel Tour broadcast only in Spanish.

Fabrice Pastor, the founder of the American Padel Tour had moreover several times criticized this “strangeness" in this "professional circuit that says it wants to develop padel".

The WPT seemed almost compelled to offer English streaming on its official channel as it has seen for several years a global boom in padel. If this professional circuit wanted to remain the benchmark circuit in the world, it had no other choice but to do so.

And so it does so in 2020.

Farewell Mauri Andrini, place for Robert Dunne

Irish journalist Robert Dunne will be the one to host the streaming in English. Dunne is no stranger as he has accumulated experience in both print media and broadcast major events. The new voice of Padel in English has also been an editor and translator at Diario AS. Narrator on ESPN, covering sports such as soccer, American football, baseball, basketball and tennis. He is also one of the voices of Real Madrid TV.

We inevitably think of Mauri Andrini, one of those who had offered streaming in English on the channel of World Padel Tour it was a few years ago before the WPT rolled back.

English from Marbella

English streaming starts from the Marbella Master 2020.

The circuit has a more efficient tool to extend and distribute Word Padel Tour with the second most spoken language in the world and the first for commercial use.

While this is not the first time that the WPT has offered English in its broadcasts, it will be the first time in the history of the sport that a professional circuit of padel will broadcast in English all major events of padel over a full season. Another historic step for the World Padel Tour.

French at the WPT?

We are not going to lie to you: This is not on the agenda. The International Director of World Padel Tour, Hernan Bebe Auguste had also clearly told us bluntly during the Challenger de Casa Padel. The reasons are obviously financial, but the French-speaking fans still need to increase for there to be real interest.

Franck Binisti

Franck Binisti discovers the padel at the Club des Pyramides in 2009 in the Paris region. Since padel is part of his life. You often see him touring France going to cover the major events of padel French.
