After the experience acquired at the APT Padel Tour, Thomas Johansson embarks on a new adventure, still in padel, with the creation of a club in Sweden. The former world number 7 in tennis looks back on this new sporting project.
This club has a special place
“It's very important to have projects of such scope. In Sweden, there are very beautiful clubs and this one is one of the most beautiful Swedish clubs.”
“We are going to do a lot of work on training children, setting up a padel school which will allow us to have the future nuggets of Swedish padel."
"Le NORRKÖPING PADELCENTE is a somewhat special club since it is located in the city where I come from and it's my wife's hometowne, his parents live there. It is a large Swedish city located 1h30 south of Stockholm.
To see this club being created in this city is for me a coincidence, in fact, originally, they came to get me. Those who initiated this project needed help on the project. And things started like that. Then they asked me to join them in the creation of the club."

A new center of 7000 m²
"We currently have 18 courts (including 2 central courts and 4 singles). We also have a very nice gym overlooking the courts, a small spa with jacuzzi and sauna for rent after a bit of padel, 9 offices where young entrepreneurs from Norrköping can sit and work, 2 conference rooms for meetings and then also breakfast, lunch and dinner that you can have at the center."
"NPC's total space is approximately 7000m² plus a second floor of approximately 500m² which is under construction."
"We were approached by many padel clubs, some of which were not yet established and wanted to collaborate with the APT Padel Tour. In this club, we are 18 associates. It's a very big project. I think that this center, without false modesty, is part of the top 5 or top 3 of the most beautiful clubs.

National events before thinking about the international
"We will invest in local events. We work with the Swedish Padel Federation. We would like to organize a nice Swedish competition in our club. And then in the future maybe an international competition. All the associates agree to concentrate on the local events. Then we'll see."
"Everything remains open then on the types of international competitions. I don't think we will be aggressive very quickly at this level. It's a big project so we'll go step by step."
Focus on tennis and padel
“I will stay in sport. Tennis remains my main environment, but padel is not far away. I have plans. I am very happy to see Alex Corretja at World Padel Tour and Luis Lobo at Apt Padel tour. They are very good friends and they will bring their experience to padel.”
"I worked for a month with Luis at the APT Padel Round. He is a serious and very professional person. I wish him the best in this new adventure. With Fabrice [Pastor] we agreed that Luis will take over. I am very happy that he can continue the work at the APT padel tour."
