This weekend the U16 and U18 national youth tournament was held at the Set Padel Narbonne, boys and girls. Since 24 February, the competition was in full swing in Narbonne.

The young people were present in the boys category with 15 pairs among the U18s, 24 pairs among the U16s. A first for a TNJ! In the girls category, the young players did not respond as much to the call. The two categories U16 and U18 had to be merged.

Alexia Dechaume also states that “the level continues to improve” in these tournaments. She also emphasizes that “young people train more and more“, not just those who have a project identified in the padel. She adds to this that several U14s made the trip, in the boys category, to face the older ones!

Note, in addition to this, the presence of the two captains of the French boys team, Yann Auradou et Yannick Maurel ! As well as Benjamin Tison.

The start of the finals is imminent, from 13h in Narbonne! In the U18 category, Timeo Fonteny et Lucas Pillon are logically in the final and will be opposed to Guillaume Poirrier et Tom Couturier. Quite an unprecedented final since Guillaume Poirier and Tom Couturier achieved a small feat by winning in their semi-final against Joshua Schbeir and Louis Jover (TS2).

Among the U16s, Jeremy Robert et Basil Baud will face Quentin Bernard et Johan Peloux.

For the girls category, therefore combining the U16 and U18, we logically find bronze medalists at the world championships, Lou Ambert-Agosti et Kimy Barla. They will meet Celia Talano et Victoria Isaac.

Gwenaelle Souyri

It was his brother who one day told him to accompany him on a track. padel, since then, Gwenaëlle has never left the court. Except when it comes to going to watch the broadcast of Padel Magazine, World Padel Tour… or Premier Padel…or the French Championships. In short, she is a fan of this sport.
