The world championships padel 2018 in Paraguay is fast approaching! Lhe best players in the world will meet in Asuncion from October 29 to November 3 for the 14th World Championship padel. Our French are sharpening their weapons to conquer Paraguay!

France has managed to make a double blow: Qualification of ladies and gentlemen for the world. The ladies were already qualified for the finals thanks to their 9e place at the previous World Cup in Lisbon. The gentlemen had to go through qualifying ... But it was a formality for our French far above in these qualifications.

Operating mode

16 selected countries - 8 players per nation (ie 4 pairs) not counting captains and the medical corps.

Each confrontation is 3 matches. The captain has the choice to do what he wants on the order of his pairs depending on the opponents.

2 winning sets - with advantage - in case of 3e set, it will be a normal set.

Numbers:

Asunción will be the world capital of Padel in a few weeks. We will thus have:

  • + 320 players
  • + 40 doctors and technicians

At the World, there are more than 700 games over a week, with the best players in the world.

 

The program of the world

The matches start on Monday 29 October. The final will be held on Saturday November 3.

We will start with the pool matches. Then from the November 1er, we attack the main board with the quarters.

What can our French hope?

In ladies as in men, the potential is very important. We have never had such strong teams, which may suggest that ambitions are important.

In the ladies, Spain and Argentina are obviously the big favorites of the competition and we will find them in the final. Behind, we have Portugal that seems favorite today for an 3e place. Then, several nations can hope to get this 4e place including France. If France gets an 4e place, it would be a very nice place.

At the men's, it's like at the ladies, Spain and Argentina will be in the final. Brazil will certainly get an 3th place. Portugal is a strong nation and can hope to have this place 4e. But be careful, because Paraguay is also interesting even if it is certainly a little weaker today. France can get this 4th place, it would be extremely beautiful. But the competition for this 4e place will be very important with several nations like Italy that could play us naughty tricks. She has already done it.

To reach the top 6 of world nations is the goal of the French. Beyond that, it will perhaps be a disappointment when we see the French armada and the number of players on the professional circuit, but they will give everything, and that is the most important!
