Since the WPT tournaments are currently on stand-by, the organization of the best padel in the world has decided to “freeze” on Monday the ranking of players.

Small reminder for all those who do not understand how the classification of the World Padel Tour.

The rankings update on a date. If in 2019, on March 30 you won a tournament, and in 2020 you lose in the first round, you will lose points in your ranking. Conversely, if in 2019 you lost in the first round and in 2020 you win the tournament, you will have more points.

The problem is that in 2020, few tournaments may be played. What will the system do? Believe that you did not show up for the tournament. So he will give you 0 points and in this little game there, it would be those who scored the least points at the start of the season who could double those who had started 2019 very strong, without playing ... As Ale Galan, who would have passed Juan Lebron and Paquito Navarro if the classification had not been blocked.

To keep all of this fair and above all “logical” for everyone, the World Padel Tour decided to “freeze” the ranking of all players after the update following the first tournament, the Cerveza Victoria Marbella Master 2020.

Good news for players who are guaranteed not to have their rankings changed while they are not playing.
