La new partner of Alix Collombon spoke during the Human Padel Toulouse Open, sharing his memories and impressions of the padel. Their new pair experienced a successful entry into the tournament before playing her 8th against the twin sisters Alayeto this Thursday!

The ankle, a difficult injury to manage

“My best memory of padel is to have reached a place in the final at a professional tournament alongside Cata Tenorio. I can't remember the year but I know it was in Barcelona.

“As for the worst memory, it was when I injured my ankle, it marked me. It lasted five months but I still continued to compete although the pain remained.

Perfection according to Victoria

“My perfect pala would be the one I have now. I like rackets that are hard and have that diamond shape. It's true that it does not please everyone, but personally I like it a lot.

“Regarding my ideal partner, I think of several players. On the right I would say Alejandra Salazar the number 1 for me. Then there is also Béa Gonzalez who is a real fighter, she goes on all the balls. But also Gemma, who hits very hard. In this trio that I have just mentioned to you, I choose one of these three players.

Barcelona and Galicia in the heart of Seville

“My favorite tournaments, I would say Barcelona and Vigo or Vigo and Lugo (laughs). Ah wait I don't know anymore but I know it was in Galicia because I have good memories of it. With Alba Galan we reached the final and beat the number 1 of the time.

The company, not easy after a defeat

“What I like most about padelis the company. I like the fact of having a person by my side, of always feeling accompanied and when you have moments of low having a person who can console you.

“And what I like least? The same thing (laughs). The company. When you have a bad day, it can create problems with your partner, which can sometimes be difficult and complicated to accept, and to manage.

A broken racket with the hand

“When it comes to my racquets, I don't usually break them, preferring instead to rail at myself when frustrated. I do remember breaking one though by hitting it hard against my hand, but normally I don't break one.

A laugh in the middle of a match

“Crazy experiments? I had several with Alba, Delfi or even Bea. But come on, if I had to tell you one, it would be with Alba. I remember that during a match we had a giggle and we couldn't stop ourselves. We told ourselves that our rivals must take us for idiots but we couldn't stop. It was very funny and scary at the same time because we couldn't stop”

After being rocked by tennis for nearly 15 years, I became an absolute fan of its cousin, the padel. For nearly a year now, I've been chasing the little yellow ball with another racquet, but with just as much passion! Based in Lyon, I intend to make you better acquainted with the padel in the region and at the national level.
