Once again, Alix Collombon and Jessica Castello were close to qualifying for the quarterfinals of a World Padel Tour, but nearly failed.

The match had however started well for the Franco-Spanish pair, which took the lead after a very tight first set (7/5). But Virginia Riera and Pati Llaguno, seeded n°5, put a boost in the second set, won 6/1.

The Frenchwoman and her "compi" were still able to believe in it at the start of the 3e set, making equal play with the Hispano-Argentinian pair, but the 6e game was fatal to them, Jessica Castello losing her serve. Behind, Riera and Llaguno again tightened the game to break away 5-2. Alix was able to hold her serve and come back 3/5, but the favorites weren't giving up on their service game, securing the first match point. Final score 5/7 6/1 6/3.

A logical but frustrating defeat for Collombon and Castello, who once again did not go far. For the world No. 23 and 24, this is the sixth defeat this year at the round of XNUMX stage of a WPT event, for three qualifications in the quarterfinals and one in the final (during the Tau Cerámica Mallorca Challenger ).
