The Italians and Brazilians gave us a superb match, with a lot of suspense, ultimately won 2/1 by the favorite nation: Italy.

Bosses do the job

This quarter-final started with a very big match, with only players from the World Padel Tour. On the one hand Raquel Piltcher and Manuela Schuck, respectively 42nd and 68th in the WPT. On the other, Carlotta Casali and Carolina Orsi, 60th and 75th. A balanced match therefore on paper, which sees the final victory of the Brazilians: 6-3 / 6-4. The two best players of the selection did the job, and they launch their team perfectly.

Behind, Italy brings in its best team: Chiara Pappacena et Giulia Sussarello. The two players respectively 54th and 59th in the WPT ranking do not do in detail against a pair Barreto / Suseje completely exceeded: 6-0 / 6-0. As in the opposing team, the best pair did their job and we are therefore heading for a decisive third game.

In a samba atmosphere, Tatiana correa et Cristina De Oliveira start drum beating in front of  Valentina tommasi et Emily Stellato. These two players who do not play on either of the two professional circuits surprise the Italians who play the WPT (respectively 97th and 100th). Pushed by their audience, they won the first round 6/4. Behind them continue their momentum to lead 4/2. But the Italians come back, solid on the fly, they come back in the match and offer themselves two set points at 5/4.

The Brazilians do not give up, the conditions are slow, the points last and they manage to outwit their opponents, rather followers of the fast game. The two pairs are holding on and it is logically that they go to the decisive game. A tie-break totally dominated by the Transalpines, who impose their power at the net: 7/3.

Suspense fans get what they wanted: a third set! But the bodies are suffering, and the two players on the left have to go to the physiotherapist. The Brazilians hang on but the Italians are fresher at the end of the match, they end up winning 6/2 in the third set.

Italy was very hot, and the players will have to regain their strength if they want to exist tomorrow against Argentina!
