two French pairs still engaged in the Senior World Open Plus 2024 played this morning, on the sidelines of the ladies team final.
On the French side, there were still two pairs that could hope to win gold. Among those over 55, these are Olivier Launo et Jean-Marc Lagloire who were trying to win the final, against the Spaniards Ricardo Charfole Cernuda and Francisco Javier Rodriguez Blanco.
In this first final, the debates were very balanced between the two teams. The French lost the first set 6/4 , before going to get the second 6/3 , to snatch a super decisive tie-break which served as the third set. Despite a nice comeback on the part of Launo/Lagloire, they could not develop their best padel in the super tie-break, lost 10/2 .
The other final took place among the +35s with Adrien Maigret et Maxime Moreau . The two men also met two Spaniards: Christian Ramos Abad and Alvaro Garcia Gallego.
At the end of a match perfectly mastered by the French pair, Adrien Maigret and Maxime Moreau won 6 / 2 7 / 5 to win gold at their very first Seniors Plus World Cup!
now it's the turn of the four female tricolor pairs to try to win the Open title. The matches will be played in the afternoon, with four extra chances gold medal for the French team! For the French men's team, there is still a bronze medal to be won against Sweden !
It was her brother who one day told her to accompany him to a padel court, since then, Gwenaëlle has never left the court. Except when it comes to going to watch the retransmission of Padel Magazine, World Padel Tour… or Premier Padel…or the French Championships. In short, she is a fan of this sport.
