What a game ! What a fight four men fought on the central track of La Rural, at the start of the round of XNUMX of the WPT Buenos Aires Master!

On one side the seeded 3 composed of the Argentinian Fernando Belasteguin and the Spaniard Arturo Coello. On the other, the pair of outsiders formed by the n°39 and 41 of the ranking, the 21-year-old Spaniards Juanlu Esbri and Edu Alonso. Between them, they do not reach the 43 years of the “boss” Bela!

Between them they are only 42 years old

And yet, for 2 hours and 25 minutes of play this Thursday, they tied the game and fought fiercely against one of the best pairs of the end of 2022. Dominating in the first set, Edu and Junalu only gave in to the decisive game of the first round, perhaps due to lack of experience.

But in the second set, they were the ones who made the first break and did not let go to win 6/4. The Argentinian-Spanish pair showed signs of weakness at the start of the third set, having to fight several times to hold their service.

But there again, it was the most experienced who were the most realistic: Belasteguin / Coello took their first break of the game in the 8th game of the third set. And at 5/3 for them, they did not flinch to conclude this match 7/6 4/6 6/3.

By the way, we almost saw Belasteguin getting caught by a spike from his own partner.

In the other 1/8th already finished, Martin Di Nenno and Coki Nieto beat in two sets, 6/2 7/5, the always regular José Diestro and Pincho Fernandez. Pablo Lima and Franco Stupa then won without shaking, 6/2 6/4, against Barahona and Garcia Mora.

Here is the schedule for the round of XNUMX, to follow on WPT-TV.
