WPT: reduced visibility for almost all players

The players participating in the WPT hoped to gain more visibility thanks to the circuit, but that was not the case ...

Despite  the enormous success of the WPT from the quarter-finals  with a level of play rarely equaled, we cannot help thinking of all the other professional players who are nevertheless THE basis of the WPT and who are for the moment clearly forgotten.

Apart from the costs (an understandable argument), we are very surprised that in 2021, the WPT has not started offering streaming to padel fans,  at least for   the whole main board .

In 2021, streaming AND padel are booming, but we still have to wait...

During this period of global pandemic, streaming has literally exploded. With events without spectators and people forced to stay at home, the various platforms recorded record numbers.

Since for the moment the tournaments must be played  sometimes behind closed doors or at best with reduced attendance , we thought that the WPT would start its streaming from the preprevias. But no… For now, we have to wait as always for the quarter-finals, either on Friday to wait for the first live images, while the tournaments start the previous Sunday…

A lot of  Disappointment for padel fans , a great general misunderstanding which shows once again that the players who are not part of the world top are almost invisible in the tournaments.

The health crisis seemed to us the perfect opportunity for the WPT to motivate itself to do what is necessary to extend its coverage. But that was not the case. What could be the reasons for this? Difficult to know. Perhaps the WPT considers that the spectacle before the quarter-finals is not yet sufficient to deserve to be broadcast ...
