The WPT Granada Open 1000 whose previews start tomorrow will mark the beginning of new associations after the game of musical chairs on the circuit for a few weeks. For example, seven members of the men's Top 20 will already know a second partner after a month and a half of competition.

Chingotto and Navarro, the team to watch

On the men's side, several shocks from the first round concerning new formations are very exciting. Obviously, we will closely follow the first round of Federico Chingotto and Paquito Navarro. The latter, who experienced a failed start to the season, could not find better on the market to hope to revive. They will face the young nugget Léo Augsburger who will play his first tournament with Javier Rico.

Chingotto's ex-partner and now Paquito's, Juan Tello, will also try to bounce back with Alejandro Ruiz at his side. The Andalusian and the Argentinian will not really have time to find their bearings since they are faced with one of the pairs in form this year, Fernandez / Diestro.

Separated from Miguel Lamperti since his partnership with Tino Libaak, Juan Cruz Belluati will be able to “revenge” his former partner in the first round with the Spaniard Javi Leal. Finally, if Javier Garrido was able to immediately find a teammate in the person of Jon Sanz, he is certainly not happy to undergo the return to competition of Sanyo / Bela.

The fire test for Collombon/Alonso

The Frenchwoman Alix Collombon, who recently split from Carla Mesa, will start in Granada with Alejandra Alonso. The two women did not get a welcome gift in the draw, as they inherited the number five seeds, Patricia Llaguno and Victoria Iglesias.

Two strong pairs from the start of the season have mixed to create two new formations : Marta Ortega will now be associated with Sofia Araujo, and on the other side Beatriz Gonzalez will team up with Delfina Brea. The two Spaniards, yet 3rd in the world together, went to look for two young women who also distinguished themselves during the South American tour.

Finally, other couples have been reworked and will be there for the first round in Granada, such as Virseda / Martinez in the absence of Barbara Las Heras, Saiz/Amatrian following the retirement of Anna Cortiles, or Walnut/Merino and Mesa/Arrabuarrena.
