There are definitely no surprises in the women's draw of the World Padel Tour Málaga Open! Indeed, as in the round of XNUMX, the favorite pairs were intractable today in the quarters.

We were hoping for tight encounters with the eight best pairs in the world as protagonists this morning in Malaga, but that was clearly not the case. The top four seeds played at such a level that the underdogs couldn't do anything.

In the end, not a match in three sets to put in their mouths, and two big corrections which certainly hurt the morale of those who cashed them... Poor Castello and Araujo only scored one game against Triay and Ortega! Almost the same rate for Jensen and Virseda who won two against Icardo/Riera… The good news is that Martita/Gemma and Tamara/Virginia, who will meet tomorrow in the semi-finals, should be in great shape.

In the other part of the table, the matches were a little tighter, but the suspense was not there either. Josemaria and Sanchez dominated Osoro/Sainz 6/4 6/3, while Gonzalez and Brea did the same against the Alayeto twins: 6/1 6/4. At home, Bea made the show again!

We will therefore be entitled to superb semi-finals tomorrow, with the bonus of a revenge of the Madrid Major final !

  • Ortega/Triay (TS2) vs Icardo/Riera (TS4)
  • Josemaria/Sanchez (TS1) vs Brea/Gonzalez (TS3)
