After three tournaments played in this new season of World Padel Tour, we have already had many surprises, for both men and women. Let's go back to the most significant results.

Modon Abu Dhabi Master: Rubio / Ruiz in the last four

The Abu Dhabi Masters was the start of trouble for Paquito Navarro and Juan Tello. The pair, seeded number 4, fell in the first round against Gonzalo Rubio and Javier Ruiz. The latter then take advantage of the open table to qualify for the semi-finals for the first time in their career.

Among the ladies, Jessica Castello and Claudia Jensen made a great start. The two young women offer themselves in quick succession the scalps of Gonzalez / Ortega then the Alayeto sisters to integrate the last four. They logically bow against Salazar / Triay who will then be robbed of their place on the throne of the circuit in the final by Josemaria / Sanchez.

La Rioja Open: Libaak and Augsburger reveal themselves to the planet padel

The first event of the South American tour was going to keep all its promises despite several absences among the top players, notably Lebron and Galan. Favorites in their part of the table, Sanyo Gutiérrez and Fernando Belasteguin were surprised by Bergamini / Ruiz in the second round. Belluati and Lamperti take revenge on behalf of the elders and get their ticket to the semi-finals, more motivated than ever to seek a final.

Only, a storm had stormed the pistas of La Rioja: Valentino Libaak and Leandro Augsburger, respectively 17 and 18 years old and ranked outside the Top 100, destroyed everything in their path. Beneficiaries of a wild-card, the young Argentinians successively went through the mill Silingo/Diaz, Navarro/Tello, Sanchez Campagnolo and therefore Belluati/Lamperti, becoming the youngest players in the World Padel Tour to qualify for the final of an Open tournament.

Chile Padel Open: Castello and Jensen confirm, Collombon / Mesa in quarter

In Chile, the French Alix Collombon signs a feat alongside Carla Mesa by eliminating in the second round the pair Gonzalez / Ortega, seeded number 3 and finalist in La Rioja. The path of the tricolor stops in the quarter-finals, but such a result is very encouraging for the rest of his season.

Alix's former partner, Jessica Castello, shone again in Santiago with Claudia Jensen. The two young women dismissed the Alayeto sisters before defeating world number 1 Josemaria/Sanchez in straight sets. The Hispano-Argentinian pair even won a ticket for the final where they fell again against Salazar / Triay.

Among the men, “Pincho” Fernandez and José Antonio Diestro pierced the table. The Spaniards made their way to the semi-finals by consecutively defeating Silingo/Diaz, Navarro/Tello and Chingotto/Garrido.

Despite all these surprises, we notice that these results never happened in the final where logic takes over. Among the ladies, Salazar/Triay won the two South American Opens after the success of Josemaria/Sanchez in Qatar. On the other side, Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia recorded 13 victories in a row to clinch the first three events of the World Padel Tour, including twice at the expense of Lebron and Galan!
