Yoann Roumy is back! After two long years away from the courts of padel Yoann is fit to play again due to injury. We meet him to talk about it.

A long rehabilitation

Lorenzo Lecci López: Yoann, you've been away from the courts for approximately two years. First of all, how is your ankle? How did this long rehabilitation go?

Yoann Roumy: “That's it, two years without playing… Today clearly things are going much better. Even though the pain is still there, it does not prevent me from playing. ”

“The rehabilitation took place in two phases. The first year, I had a steel physiotherapist, a certain Olivier Picaud, who took care of my ankle to regain a little flexibility and mobility. Then after a year, I had my leg surgery. After that I was able to resume walking and running little by little… ”

Lorenzo Lecci López: It must have been difficult for you not to be able to express yourself on the court anymore, right?

Yoann Roumy: " Two years without playing, it's just hell, at the beginning we fill this gap by watching all matches broadcast, by following all the results, but it drives us crazy, so I hardly followed anymore. ”

Relaunch with Nicolas Trancart

Lorenzo Lecci López: I spoke with Nicolas Trancart last week, and he told me that there is a good chance that we will see you together on the French circuit in 2021. Can you tell us about it? more ?

Yoann Roumy: "If he accepts me there are chances that we will play again! But will he accept me? Honestly, I don't feel up to par at all. ”

“During my two-year break, I know that he played a lot, he went to Spain in particular, so inevitably a gap has been created between us. I don't want to be his ball. So I'm going to train properly first so that it doesn't. ”

Lorenzo Lecci López: During this interview, Nicolas said : “She's a person I adore. I like his character and we are very complementary on the pitch. ” What does Nico bring to your game?

Yoann Roumy: "I think we could play well together… After more than a year and a half together we bonded. He made me progress so much!"
