The calendar Premier Padel came out and, one thing is certain, it shook the world of padel.  Only 4 tournaments in Spain  next year: unprecedented. With the purchase of World Padel Tour by QSI, padel tends to become more international, which is why the number of tournaments in Spain has decreased. Although Spain is the country with the most competitions next season, it is a change from recent years.

However, there remains a real desire of the  International Federation of Padel  (FIP) and the  Spanish Federation of Padel  (FEP) to bring together the most prestigious tournaments of the Cupra FIP Tour on Iberian soil. Last year, these tournaments were rather played abroad with  Dubai, Mexico and even Sardinia.

As a reminder, FIP Platinum tournaments offer  200 points  and FIP Gold events offer  100 points  FIP Ranking.

In 2024, we must therefore expect that  these two categories of tournaments find Spain , the opportunity for the FEP to “give young talents the opportunity to compete on the circuit, gain experience, and thus ensure succession."

The organization of the FIP Platinum and FIP Gold will be made “hand in hand with the Autonomous Federations", as explained by the president of the Spanish Padel Federation,  Ramón Morcillo .

At this time, Autonomous Federations and other recognized tournament organizers can request approval from the FIP and FEP for the organization of FIP Platinum and FIP Gold events before the  25 January . It will therefore be necessary  wait a little longer  to find out in which cities these tournaments will be played.

Gwenaelle Souyri

It was her brother who one day told her to accompany him to a padel court, since then, Gwenaëlle has never left the court. Except when it comes to going to watch the retransmission of Padel Magazine, World Padel Tour… or Premier Padel…or the French Championships. In short, she is a fan of this sport.
