Mario Cordero is still at the stage of padel Yes Sport Spirit in Barcelona. But the end is approaching ...

What already? We barely have time to take a few colors, to master the chiquita, to differentiate between bandeja et vibora that it is already necessary to leave?

And yes, Friday 27 April is the last day of my camp Yes Catalan Sport Spirit ... But before leaving it remains a day, and it will be quite nice because it starts on the beach. There is worse to say goodbye to Andres our physical coach.

  • The beach but not lying on my towel

All the small troop is found on the beach closest to the center on Friday morning. Unlike her habit, she is almost perfectly quiet. The wind from the sea is a little cool but we will quickly warm up with the exercises concocted by Andres.

First, some rugby passes, then some volleyball and finally a little football game. Fun and beautiful slices of fun.

Finally, Frederic offers us a small 50 meters (transformed into 20 meters by me). I took a nice 4th place on the first series before finishing with dignity 5th on the second. Some will say that out of 5 participants it is not Byzantium but the important thing is to participate ("especially when you cannot win" Fernando Belasteguin)

  • Back on the slopes

This morning it's training à la carte with our three usual coaches. We choose a little rab on the bandeja/vibora with Pol who is playing a “Silver” tournament on the Catalan circuit this evening.

Rather fit this morning, we put the exercises in good spirits and the session passes at high speed V. Finally, 15 minutes defense on the glass with Neil to burn the last available calories.

Jacques, when to him, takes Rab of Par 3 and sends bullets in all Catalonia (and perhaps even further, 3 are still missing)

  • The training of Pablo Lima

As soon as the training is over, we don't waste a minute and we go to the Padelarium, an indoor club 3 kilometers from our training center.

A small part between three Catalan players and a world number one is played on the most hidden ground of the public.

During 30 minutes we have the chance to attend a high level match. It is very impressive to be able to see them evolve a meter from us. We are just behind the window, we can appreciate the speed of movement and the ball that passes from one camp to another with very little fault.

Finally, Pablo lends himself to the photo game with us. A very good moment !

  • Last match against the best pair + 50 of Catalonia

We could call it the part too much, or the final lesson, but we got stern to speak more simply. Nothing to say, our two opponents are above, and practice a padel atypical for us. It plays on the basis of cushioning, very cut shots and devastating par 3s.

Score 6 / 2 6 / 3 and we end up with some games by mixing the teams.

On the other ground is the duel that everyone had been waiting for 5 days, revenge between Frédéric and his son Antoine on one side of the net and the other Alain and Jacques.

The four players have progressed a lot since the victory of Alain and Jacques 6 / 4 on the third day of the course.

The revenge has taken place, father and son win 7/5 0/6 10/6 and leave for Toulouse full of confidence for the tournaments that await them. For their part, Alain and Jacques meet for another lesson tomorrow at 10am. When we love we don't count!

Thank you all for having followed me, I hope that this report on the spot will have made you want to come to discover or improve your game in the country where he was born. Do not hesitate to contact me if you have questions about the running of the internship or to contact Isabelle directly.

See you soon on the Belgian slopes Alain, on a future Padel Infinity in Toulouse Frédéric and Antoine and on a Virgile and Richard tournament.

Thank you Yes Sport Spirit and a huge thank you to Isabelle for organizing this course and to have been very caring for us throughout the week.

Thanks to all the coaches, Pol, Neil, Cristian, Andres, Oriol the director and all our opponents during the training games.

A need for Irene, Ramon, Lara, Marco who welcomed me into their home like a member of their family. Enzo, I hope to see you on the world tennis circuit soon!

Castelldefels is over, and to say that it was the city of my internship padel, Castelldefels it's over I think I'll go back one day!
