Following statements by Lisandro Borges, WPT promoter of the tournaments in Buenos Aires, La Rioja, Chile and Paraguay, which involves Ale Galan, the world number one in padel indicates wanting to wash his “honor” and re-express his “commitment to this sport".

Significant knee problems for two years

My passion for padel and my respect for the fans of this wonderful sport are most important. For two years, I have been dragging important knee problems, which I have never used as an excuse, but after evaluating them with many specialists, have recommended me to start prioritizing my health over the competition so I can have a long and healthy career.

30 weeks of competition in 2022

Last year, with the objective of the season almost achieved, we decided to go to Buenos Aires, Argentina (tournament organized by Lisandro), with the intention of giving the best show possible to the Argentinian public and winning over there. We managed to do that, ending the year with over 30 weeks of competition, where we won 14 titles and played over 80% of the weekends in the season, with the wear and tear that put on my knees.

Train under medical supervision

This year, after a very short pre-season and with very little time on the court, due to my injury and the treatment I have been in for 6 weeks, I decided to play the first two tournaments of the year and to then reassess the situation with my medical and sports team. The assessment of the professionals advising me was to stop and take care of myself. To continue training under medical supervision, reducing the workload, with specific treatment to prepare for Chile and the following tournaments.

Galan's threats to Borges

My intention is always to play as many tournaments as possible. I assure you that it makes me even more angry not to be able to fight with my partner and the rest of the players on the circuit and above all it hurts me not to be able to go to a country that has so much love and passion for the padel than Argentina. Attempting to question my honor and respect for this sport is something I will not allow and I will take whatever action I deem appropriate against anyone who attempts to undermine my professionalism.

I thank the supporters for their messages of support. I greet you all and I hope to be able to resume competition in Chile.
