At 52, Alexandre Bellugue embodies a devouring passion for padel, a sport to which he devoted himself after a career of nearly thirty years as a tennis teacher. Based in Sète Padel Club in Sète, in Hérault, Alexandre does not hesitate to cross borders to perfect his skills.
For the second time, he sets down his suitcases in Spain, the undisputed cradle of padel, where he immerses himself in renowned academies. "I didn't invent anything," he humbly confides. "Other trainers, coaches and experienced players do not hesitate to cross the border in order to enrich themselves and train with the best in Spain."
Padel in France is experiencing a meteoric rise, but according to Alexandre, "we don't yet have the experience of the Spanish." This is how, after obtaining his diploma and some training in France, he decided to turn to Spain, in search of new subtleties and expertise.
His journey took him to Bilbao this year, after an enriching experience atOSS Barcelona the previous year. “Each trainer emphasizes different points, and that becomes a strength,” he explains enthusiastically.
Passionate about tennis all his life, Alexandre found a new source of inspiration in padel. "I'm never satisfied," he admits. Hyperactive and eager to learn, he cultivates his personal requirements and likes to pass on his knowledge to all generations and at all levels.
But why Spain? “I am looking for tools, for myself, but especially to bring back the most refined tools possible during my classes in France,” he explains. “The best is yet to come in France, but padel has taken off and we still have to learn from our Spanish friends.”
In Bilbao, Alexandre chose theacademy of Andoni Bardasco (Padel Stuff), an undisputed reference in the world of padel. "I really appreciated his listening and his response to my expectations," he confides.
For Alexandre, routine should be banned. “I don’t ever want to be bored with what I do,” he says with determination. His motivation lies in quality learning and the faithful transmission of these lessons.
Ultimately, Alexandre embodies this unquenchable passion for padel, this incessant search for perfection that pushes him to draw on the knowledge of the greatest. And it is this faith that drives him every day, guiding him towards new horizons in the world of padel.
