Under the Head Padel Open in Palavas-les-Flots, Eugénie and Nicolas, Chinese medicine therapists, do not go unnoticed with their two massage tables. Coming from Lyon, this duo works with many complexes of padel from the Rhône-Alpes region, bringing a unique and effective therapeutic approach to sport.

Eugénie and Nicolas' specialty is traditional Chinese medicine, a practice integrating osteopathy, physiotherapy and chiropractic. “We support athletes in recovery and give the right attitudes to adopt in the event of injury. In the padel, we can be confronted with ankle and knee sprains, but also with tendonitis and shoulder pain,” explains Eugénie.

Their holistic approach focuses on examining the entire body to identify painful areas. Using an acupressure technique, they target these areas, not with needles, but with their hands to relieve pain.

Axel, a tournament participant, testifies to the effectiveness of their work. After a recovery massage, he feels much better: “They quickly found where I was hurting. I feel much better and more relaxed now.”

For Eugénie and Nicolas, the choice of padel is no coincidence. They admire the playful approach to sport and the friendliness that characterizes it. Nicolas, a former high-level handball player, describes the padel as the “perfect mix between individual and collective sport”. He adds: “We were very well received in the community, with this impression of belonging to a big family”.

Their presence and their remarkable work at the Head Padel Open of Palavas-les-Flots testify to the open-mindedness and innovation that characterize the world of padel, a sport that knows how to adapt and welcome new practices for the well-being of its players.
