In this second stage of FFT Padel Tour which will take place in Esprit Padel Lyon from May 10 to 12, never have group stages been so high for the men. Note that there will be 2 groups for the women, which is a good thing compared to the first stage at 4PADEL Valenciennes.
We will necessarily focus on the men's group stages. So there are 4 groups made up of 4 pairs each. And in these groups, we find ourselves with the Lyon pair Sanchez / Joulot (114), seeded 21 out of 36! No, it's not a joke, you have to go back to their beginnings in padel to see them play a group stage. They are in group A and unless there are any mistakes or injuries, we will find them in the main draw. With a favorable draw, many pairs in the main draw will fall to the local pair. Woe to the one who falls on them in the first round of the final stages.
The other hens are much more balanced. Pool B illustrates this perfectly with the Gay / Toniutti pair who will have to fight to impose their rank of seed 1 in the pool. Boronad / Loupetis and especially the pair Groll / Garcia, undercut, in our opinion, have every chance to try to win in Pool B.
In Pool C, if Thevenot / Fanet is seeded 1 of their Pool, they are not necessarily the favorite. The 4 pairs are held in a pocket square. We can clearly see the Tap / Nicol pair, in 3rd position, making a move. Much will depend on Erwan Nicol's form and his smash machine. The Kusaj / Cordero pair can obviously create a semi-surprise in this pool located in position 4. Michael Kusaj, 279th French player is clearly undercut.
In group D, it is perhaps the least dense group on paper. But we will finally be able to see Patrick Fouquet, the women's captain of the French padel team associated with the no less known, the left-handed Arnaud Taboni. The Parisians Fabien Veber and Laurent Michel will be the ts1 of group D. Watch out for Faure / Boch and the artists Perreon / Spanelis. If the Fouquet / Taboni pair is 100% operational, they could get through it. But the matches will certainly be very tight in this group.
Start of matches at 16h!
