A few hours ago, theAPT Padel Tour announced a news that was going to upset the circuit: a new name, a new identity and above all new horizons.

For the professional circuit, it is “of a new era of padel professional".

"The objective of the APT Padel Tour has always been about improving the experience for players and fans. The new entity A1 Padel brings impetus, innovations and a desire not to submit“, explains the founder and president, Fabrice Pastor.

Strategic growth

This development is actually not really a surprise when you look back. The APT has always evolved since its creation. First called America Padel Tour, it then took a definitively international turn by renaming itself APT Padel Round. A1 Padel therefore seems to be the last mutation aiming for excellence.

In a way, it's also a way of taking everyone by surprise. While the calendars of World Padel Tour as well as Premier Padel are long overdue, not only A1 Padel draws first, but also has its share of surprises in store for us.

Symbolically, the first stage will take place in South Africa. It is also a message addressed to the players: “Le padel must be played everywhere and on all continents“has been hammering the president of Monte-Carlo International Sports for ten years.

He therefore moves from words to deeds.

It's a page that turns, but Fabrice Pastor wants to show through this new brand the desire to develop a strategy that better meets the objectives of the circuit.

Ike S. Franco, CEO of Infinity Sports and partner of A1 Padel is there to boost the circuit in the United States: “We are delighted to introduce the padel to audiences of all ages. We are confident that athletes and sports fans across the United States will enjoy the show of padel.

Improved conditions (again)

Beyond the name change, the whole image of the circuit is changing.

First, the best APT players Padel Tour have so signed for three years with this circuit. Then their financial conditions will be improved from 2023 with an increase in allocations of almost 20%, not including the bonus for the first 12 players of A1 Padel.

Le provisional calendar 2023 is announced today with more tournaments in the Open, Masters and Grand Master categories. It will start with the Cape Town Master, from February 13 to 19.
