What a first! Julio Julianoti and Gonzalo Alfonso win in final of the Saltillo Master of theAPT Padel Tour, and won the title in their first tournament together.
Talent makes the difference
Padel is a sport where the connection between two teammates is fundamental, but sometimes individual talent can make the difference. Facing a very well-oiled pair that has been formed for several years, Gonzalo Alfonso and Julio Julianoti, each in their own style, made their talent reign in Saltillo.
If it is true that this pair still lacks a lot of elements to reach its best level, the performances of Julianoti / Alfonso have been stunning this week. In the final, the Argentinian and the Brazilian will have been able to put together a meeting that got off to a bad start.
With these fast playing conditions, Gonzalo Alfonso enjoyed the smash, and was able to get the upper hand on the n°1 Franco Dal Bianco in the diagonal of the players on the left.
The ephemeral pair finally wins 2/6 6/3 6/3, showing a rare solidity in important moments.
It's a blow for Franco Dal Bianco and Maxi Arce who wanted to take advantage of Tolito/Tito's poor performance to increase their lead in the race for No. 1.

A truly ephemeral association?
The big question that remains after this victory is whether these two players could continue together, even if they have already announced a new project with another player.
If Julio Julianoti gave the impression of being more open to an immediate association with Alfonso, the latter does not seem ready to give up on Juani De Pascual, his new teammate.
Clara Navarro, APT journalist Padel Tour, asked the question to the two players.
Julianotti "We are so happy. When I knew I was going to play with Gonza I knew we could win. It was a pleasure to be by his side.”
Alfonso "Julio taught me a lot. I am more professional by his side. I find it difficult to achieve this victory. If one day we were to play together again, it would be a pleasure.”
Both players have somewhat avoided the question, but it is likely that this week will give them ideas for next season!
