The French men's junior team failed to imitate the women's, who had qualified earlier for the semi-finals of the European Junior Championships Padel 2022 in beating Portugal 2/1.

This evening, this same Portugal took its revenge by eliminating the Blues from the men's draw by the same score of two victories to one, in the quarter-finals in Valencia. Portugal had scored the first point thanks to a success in three sets of its U14, against the young French.

But a little later, the U16 tricolors put the two teams equal, after another hard-fought match, in three sets. Everything was therefore possible and it was possible to hope for a qualification for the semi-finals.

The U18s lost in three sets as did the U14s

The French U18s even made their supporters dream by winning the first round against the Portuguese. but the latter did not demobilize and, when night had fallen on Valence, they obscured the game of the French by winning the second set. The start of the third still hinted at a possible victory, but soon, the Portuguese made the break and flew to the semi-final, avenging their female counterparts in the process.

Friday from 16:15 p.m., the men's semi-finals will oppose Portugal to Italy on the one hand, Spain to Belgium on the other.

The French hopes will rest entirely on the shoulders of our U14, 16 and U18 women, facing Sweden from 10 a.m.
