It is not easy to give a precise answer to the question posed in the title, and for good reason: the answer changes every day, so padel growing fast!

Let's start with the French figures: last October, the French Tennis Federation claimed 1273 tracks of padel, but was counting on the construction of 1000 new pitches by the end of 2024, in particular thanks to the financing offered by the National Sports Agency (ANS) on the occasion of the Paris Olympics.

more optimistic, Site Padelonomics identified 1464 tracks in France at the end of 2022, including 259 built during the year. This is an increase of 21,5% in the space of one year.

France, a dwarf of padel against Italy

Despite this fine development, France appears to be a dwarf in the padel against Italy, where the growth is incredible. As we mentioned it yesterday, the country with the boot built 2459 new tennis courts padel in 2022: an increase of nearly 53%, which today makes it possible to reach 7128 tracks! This makes Italy the third best-endowed country in the world, behind Spain and Argentina.

The country of the 2022 men's world champions would currently total more than 8000 lands de padel. A figure also constantly increasing in recent years since it was “only” 4900 two years ago, at the start of 2021.

As for Spain, the tracks continue to be built there at a sustained pace, to the point that their number would today be between 18 and 000, while that of practitioners would be more than 20 million.

In Europe alone, the study Global enviroment Padel Report conducted by Monitor Deloitte in collaboration with Playtomic, highlighted that nearly 27 courts of padel were created between 2016 and 2021. This study expects, by 2026, a total of 67 plots of land worldwide, generating up to 000 billion euros of investment in four years.

Only one track in Aix-en-Provence?

But this does not answer our initial question: how many tracks of padel in the world today?

A man claims to have the answer: his name is Minter Dial, he is British and 58 years old. This author and lecturer says he is "obsessed with padel”, to the point of holding One blog which lists, among other things, the number of runways in a hundred countries. And according to Mr Dial's latest calculations, we would now reach 54 courts!

It's certainly huge, but let's calm down: it only ever makes one track for 145 inhabitants of the Earth. It's a bit like there's only one field in the city of Thomas Leygue, Aix en Provence !
