COUP DE THEATER AND COUP DE CHANCE? The deposit of the list "players" pushed back to the World because of a logistical problem of the FIP.

A little reminder about SAGA: 2016 Team Padel World Championship

Since the FFT (French Tennis Federation) became aware of the calendar imposed by the FIP (International Federation of padel) which provided for the deposit of the selected teams in France for the next world team in Portugal by September 30, 2016 at the latest, the FFT has never ceased to request a deadline allowing it to rely on the final phases of the championships from France planned, two weeks later (from October 14 to 16) to establish its selection.

Through the intermediary of its president in particular, and again at our microphone in early September in Monaco, the International Federation has always been intractable on this subject. "This will be the 30 September for everyone, and not after". By ricoché, the FFT was faced with a major selection problem that could not satisfy anyone since the FFT could not wait for the results of the championships of France whose final is scheduled for October 16.

But the umpteenth "strangeness" of the FIP this time around its own logistical problems in Portugal at the World Cup could this time perhaps be profitable.

SITUATION RECOVERY: the deposit of the lists repulsed

Coup de theater, or rather luck, the future will tell, the FIP yesterday published a statement on its website informing the participating Federations of the postponement of the deadline.

Obviously, nothing to do with the French request. This is a logistical problem concerning the hosting of the participants in the World Cup, which obliges the FIP to postpone the date of submission of the selected ones.

Daniel Piatti, President of the FIP confirms: “The new deadline will be 5 days after the official announcement of the hotel solution finally retained".

Except, the FIP has not been able to give us a new date regarding this "official announcement of the hotel solution detention".

From there, everything is possible. Faced with this turnaround, and the vagueness that this generates, the FFT decided very logically to play the watch and to postpone the announcement of the list of selected (s) which had to intervene today.

In the event that the FIP provides the logistics related elements to the Federations present at the World Cup after the October 11 / 12, the FFT will be able to take advantage of the 5 days authorized by the FIP to provide the list of the selected according to the results of the French padel leagues that take part in 14 at 16 October.

Let us keep our fingers crossed so that the FIP takes all its time and that it can coincide with the initial requests of the FFT and thus allow the final stages of the championships of France to become qualifiers for the team padel world championships as initially planned.

We will not fail to keep you informed!
