The “cut” to reach the 100ᵉ French place of padel today is at around 6260 points. It is Corentin Boilevin who currently occupies this position.

In reality, there are many players in this place, such as the Spaniards Jose Luis Lara Salines and Carlos Fernandez Casquero, the Argentinians Christian Rivero and Gustavo Morales or the French Julien Maigret, Cédric Carité, Jean Thomas Peyrou, Robin Haziza and Johan Romanowski.

Why so many players there? These are simply blocked rankings for players who have been among the best in France and who do not play enough tournaments.

Going back to Cyril Hanouna, he is now in 156ᵉ French place with 5290 points, before the P1500 which was played in Tennis / Padel Club Toulonnais this weekend.

Technically, he is therefore missing nearly 1 points, but we cannot know precisely since the “cut” varies every month.

In addition, only the 12 best tournaments are counted, which does not suit the host who has played 78 tournaments over the past 12 months. Indeed, from now on, each “good result” causes another to disappear. Thus, if the last P15000 (and its 8ᵉ final) will certainly allow the host to grab a few points, it will not be enough to reach the Top 100 immediately.

In other words, Cyril will have to further increase his level of play, and continue to participate in P1500 and P2000 to have a chance of reaching his goal.

The good news for him is that the best French players have / will have a blocked ranking since many of them prefer the international circuit and no longer participate in French events.

On paper, this opens up the tables as we saw in Toulon with the surprise win for Sanchez/Courrin.

Cyril Hanouna's top 100 objective, a “mission impossible” time, therefore seems more and more “within reach of pala”!
