In an unexpected twist, Nathan Courrin and Norman Sanchez win the P1500 Toulon, although they are not among the top seeds.

The final took place in a special atmosphere, marked by an inconsistent rhythm throughout the match.

The first set turns in favor of Courrin and Sanchez: 6/2. Authier and Vincent, not at their best and broken early in the set, spent most of the time trying to catch up. An incident at 4/2, when a smash from Courrin led Pierre Vincent to collide with Authier, added to their misfortune. The precise location of Authier's injury remains unknown.

After a medical break, Authier, visibly destabilized, did not give up. However, the second set is characterized by disjointed play. Authier seems to play while walking, thus disturbing Sanchez and Courrin, who get annoyed. Meanwhile, Vincent, in better shape, covers the majority of the field, while Sanchez and Courrin are under tension and play without much success.

Finally, Sanchez and Courrin logically break at 4 everywhere, and win 6/2 6/4.

Jérôme Sciarrino, Sports Director of Tennis Padel Club Toulonnais, commented: “This first P1500 of the year was of capital importance to us. Our priority was to become an essential step, both in terms of organization and welcoming players and quality of the game. We would like to thank Cédric Salmeron for his professionalism and skills. Our club is today the first in France in number of licensees, which delights us and encourages us to invest in the long term. The city of Toulon is ready to support us, so we plan to continue our efforts and why not organize a FIP in the future. We will take stock at the end of the 4 stages. However, the positive feedback from the players is very gratifying and motivates us to maintain our commitment for the years to come, in order to remain a benchmark in the field of padel in France."

Nicolas Rouanet and Thomas Vanbauce finished in 3rd place thanks to a victory over Ferrandez / Valsot.
