Bullpadel, Head, Babolat, Nox, Wilson, Kuikma…and this is just to mention the most well-known brands that are most present in stores and on the professional circuits. In padel, the number of brands selling padel rackets seems enormous. Even surpassing that of tennis.

That said, isn’t this just a… illusion? During his interview at Padel Magazine, Manu Garcia, one of the actors of French padel, invested in My Padel Store, French Padel Shop et PadelXP, gave his opinion.

Manu Garcia: “In tennis, we are going to have five behemoths which are distributed 98% of the world figure. While in padel, these same five will have 70% and the remaining 30% will be distributed among other brands. It’s just the proportion that is extremely different.”

Brands in tennis

Indeed, in tennis, players seem to have, for many, very similar labels : Head for Novak Djokovic, Wilson for Roger Federer – or Stefanos Tsitsipas more recently –, Babolat, for Rafael Nadal and, more recently, Tecnifibre with Daniel Medvedev.

Overall, what you need to understand is that in terms of visibility, these brands are at the top. However, this does not mean that there are only them... Artengo, from Decathlon, is a first choice for novice or amateur players. Prince, for those nostalgic for Andre Agassi or Michael Chang, just like Dunlop. ProKennex, a brand as old as time. Or Yonex, highlighted by Stan Wawrinka.

In short, all this to say that ultimately, there are also a lot of brands in tennis. Except that for some, they do not have the same visibility as others.

Padel brands

In padel, it seems particularly different. Bullpadel teams a lot of players, in the same way as Head, Babolat, Nox, Varlion, StarVie, Kuikma, Puma, Drop Shot, Dunlop, Black Crown, OxDog, Cartri and we're going to stop there because we'll spend the night there.

So, let's ask ourselves the question : are there more padel brands than tennis brands? Obviously not. On the other hand, the representation of the brands is not the same. Then, Manu Garcia says it so well "I don't see how a sport like tennis, with hundreds of millions of players, could have fewer brands than padel."

Gwenaelle Souyri

It was her brother who one day told her to accompany him to a padel court, since then, Gwenaëlle has never left the court. Except when it comes to going to watch the retransmission of Padel Magazine, World Padel Tour… or Premier Padel…or the French Championships. In short, she is a fan of this sport.
