Dylan Guichard is beginning to carve out a place for himself in the padel international. Current 9th French player, he explains his start to the season and how he sees his future.

A return that promises to be positive

I started my year a little late because I had to have an ear operation, a problem I've had since I was young. It took me away from the fields from December to February.

I came back to training in mid-February and everything has been going very well since then. I have trained even more since my return. Besides, we won a tournament with Manuel (Vives) for our recovery, both him and me, so it's really nice.

The level of play is progressing well, it's quite positive so I'm happy with how things are going for the moment.

A major objective

Regarding the rest of the season, there will be a lot of FIP tournaments. It will even be the big priority. For Team France this year, I don't know if I will be able to access it, but it is clearly a major objective, if not the major objective of my season.

I don't think I'm far from that goal. If I'm not mistaken, I had a good internship last October and I was quite happy with what I had been able to show. So I will continue to work even more and hope to have my place at the end of the year for the European Championships.

With Man, everything rolls!

My partner for this year on the FIP will be Manuel Vives. It's always a little complicated since I also have Scatena who offered me to do a few FIPs and French Championships with him.

I get along very well with Scatena, so I couldn't refuse this proposal. In addition, there is a real interest for me to be able to play with him: he can bring me his experience and on the FIP circuit, he has more points.

I will therefore be with Manuel Vives on most tournaments, many FIPs and with Scatena, on 2-3 FIPs and the French Championships. With Manuel, we are more on a long-term project, I think next year we will do everything together.

A partner at all costs for tournaments Premier Padel

There is also the problem of Premier Padel which arises. They are very important to play except that with Manuel, you cannot enter them. I will therefore have to find a partner with whom to participate in Premier Padel, but above all someone who has points and who can allow me to get into them.

It's a bit the black point of the year for me. Scatena really has a lot of points, but doing the tournaments Premier Padel with me would penalize him a little bit, because he wouldn't even be seeded in qualifying.

An almost sure presence

I will be at FFT Padel Tour only if there are no important international tournaments because clearly the project is the FIPs.

For the French events, I am 100% sure of being there for the individual French Championships and the French team Championships where I will play in the Padel Horizon with all daltons.
