La situation of padel in France is rather complicated and opens a debate which share the opinion. All players in the world of padel have an opinion on the matter, and opinions differ depending on the role of the individual in the sphere padel.

The French Tennis Federation, which obtained the delegation of the management of the padel, has made the latter a development axis to allow its affiliated FFT clubs (tennis clubs) to revitalize their activity. The objective is thus to boost the number of tennis licensees nationwide.

Is this objective compatible with the ambition of a sport which now has more licensees than tennis with our Spanish neighbor?

Le padel wants to grow in France, and the characteristics of this sport could make its expansion very fast. But how to align the interests of all the players in this sport, and get out of this situation which ultimately benefits few of them?

Looking at the current situation, three hypotheses seem to stand out.

The first of these is most likely, at least in the short term: develop the padel hand in hand with the FFT, and stay in the current situation.

The second would be to create a French federation of padel, and not to repeat the same mistakes that were made in the past. So the padel could develop with a federation which purely defends the interests of this sport.

The third would be to develop the padel outside the federation with the impetus of private clubs. The private clubs will have a determining role in all the hypotheses, but in this one, they would free themselves from the federal route by developing the padel amateur.
