The racket is the extension of the hand ....
1 / A racket padel first meets standards
How to choose your racquet? How to buy? This is a question we are regularly asked and where Padel Magazine decided to do the investigation.
Before going into detail, it is interesting to dive into the framework of the racket and its regulations. Since it is from these elements that a padel is manufactured.
First interesting element: the similarity of the racquet padel with the human body. the racket Padel is in fact composed of the following elements:
- OS (racket frame): strong and robust
- MUSCLE (core of the racket - EVA foam): the most elastic possible.
- TENDONS (striking zone) resistant and flexible for the speed necessary for the ball.
- SKIN (paint and resins) waterproof, strong and present on all the racket.
- 455 mm long
- 260 mm wide
- thickness 38 mm
- Striking zone: 300 mm in length and 260 millimeters wide
- The Strike Zone is perforated in the central zone by a certain number of holes not limited between 9 and 13 millimeters
- The racket must have a rope (called a safety strap) at the end of the handle. Its use is obligatory. This bead must have a maximum length of 350 mm.
When we said all that, we did not necessarily advance on how to choose your racquet, but players will obviously have to deal with all these elements of a racquet. padel.
2 / The different parts of the rackets
The issues raised in this chapter are theoretical and do not imply absolute criteria as it is especially the player's feeling with his racket that will predominate. Here, these are orientations ....
3 / The different forms of rackets
4 / Where do we hit the ball most often?
By modifying the shape of the racket head we can distribute the 3 types of strike according to the type of game (PRECISION game, VERSATILE game or POWERFUL game)
5 / How to choose your racket shape?

Hello, that does not mean and not to say much. In fact, it is about the PAR 3 ie the smashes that one can make, at the level of the scratching.

Hello,
The “safety rope” at the end of the handle is called a “wrist strap”.
Sincerely.
Prof.
Hello, thank you for your feedback. In fact, in Spain, this strap is referred to as a “cord” (cordon) or a “correa” (strap). The term wrist strap can certainly be used, but it is seldom used. “The safety rope” is obviously a way of describing this rope which helps prevent snowshoe releases and therefore accidents. 🙂 Good padel !
It should be noted that as a general rule, manufacturers summarize the performance of their models according to 2 criteria, rated out of 10: power and precision.
Jmh: Be careful with what the brands say… the notes put, IT'S MARKETING.
Many brands put high marks on Power / Accuracy when it's 2 Specs are INCOMPATIBLE / OPPOSED when it comes to racket construction.
To put it simply / schematic: Max POWER => a soft foam + a reactive fiber which quickly deforms and reform, in surface area (to have a better “trampoline” at the level of the screen)
Max PRECISION => a “hard” foam + a rigid fiber (for less deformation of the racket head, therefore less loss of trajectory).
So pay attention to the arguments of the marks..it is rather orientations.
