Le World Padel Tour (WPT) announced on its website that it has received the agreement of the collective of players to continue its existence until 2023.

This ratification by the players finally allows us to know more about the future of padel .

Le padel professional will therefore resemble the one we know today, although there will certainly be changes, especially financially for the players of padel.

This signing was made thanks to the many support from the players. The players had already generally indicated that they would remain in the professional circuit of the World Padel Tour. But unfortunately, the 2 professional circuits were mainly in conflict on the men's circuit.

Note, however, that this is not at all the end for the International Padel Tower. There could be two professional circuits of padel that would coexist together.

Le World Padel Tour and Monte-Carlo International Sport are still in open conflict and each of these circuits has its own set of players.

Players are not restricted to one of two circuits, so they can do both. For example, the player Paquito Navarro is a player of the Monte Carlo International Sport (MCIS) circuit, but will continue to play regularly on the WPT.

Here is the press release World Padel Tour :

Le World Padel Tour and the collective of players ratify the agreement of December 2017 and renew for the next five seasons (2019 to 2023). The agreement defines the new growth horizon of the Padel during the coming period, with an option for the next five seasons. The female and male circuit make, therefore the bet of the model of development of the World Padel Tour, the organization of Padel professional rooted in its history.

Fernando Belasteguin, Pablo Lima, Sanyo Gutiérrez, Maxi Sànchez, Matias Diaz, Cristian Gutiérrez, Franco Stupaczuck, Juani Mieres, Miguel Lamperti, Juan Martin Diaz, Ramiro Moyano, Maxi Gabriel, Alvaro Cepero, Marcello Jardim, Adrian Allemandi, Alex Ruiz, the Twin sisters Sanchez-Alayeto, Gemma Triay, Lucia Sainz, Alejandra Salazar, Marta Marrero, Marta Ortega, Ariana Sànchez, Eli Amatriain, Patty Llugano. The best players on the planet Padel will therefore continue to update for the WPT until 2023 and possibly until 2028.

With this agreement between the players and the WPT, the professional circuit becomes clearer. Indeed, the fact of having a guideline for as many consecutive sports seasons (5) will allow the WPT to be able to better manage commercially the attractiveness of Padel in the world. The professional circuit of Padel may, in particular, generate more revenue in terms of sponsorship on longer-term contracts, which is a security for the brands which will then be more inclined to sponsor the Padel.

World Padel Tour Stadium

In fact, the organizers of the WPT will be able to better equip the competitions, especially on the women's circuit to attract the players who were reluctant to participate in the WPT.

Raymond Agenjo, President of World Padel Tour  :

The contract we sign with the players aims to engage the Damm Group with sport in general and with the Padel in particular, whether at professional or amateur level.

An agreement guaranteeing the future of the WPT

The agreement that has been ratified provides a clear and precise vision of the Padel professional for years to come.

Indeed, the agreement allows the WPT to continue for a minimum of 5 years (until 2023) even 10 years since there is an option until 2028.

The horizon of the WPT now seems much clearer after several months very complicated.

But MCIS wants to remain an alternative and should come up with a number of things in the coming days / weeks.
