This is the sixth title of French Champion of padel for Alix Collombon and the third for Léa Godallier; they are now the queens in France with this victory in the final on 4Padel Toulouse Colomiers against Jessica Ginier / Lucile Pothier (6/2 6/1). “We mastered the subject, very good start to the match, we managed to do what we had planned, especially in the French final against Lucile Pothier and Jessica Ginier who had a very good year. We are very happy with the way we won.”

The start of the first set was tight, but the throw-in of the second was decisive: “It's true, Lucile started flat out, because that's their strong point. Jessica plays with her physique. It turns out that when we can counter that, that's when we take charge, control the game and make a difference. Every break in both sets helped us and mentally it affected them.”

Very self-critical, they declare: “We are very happy, but we want more. We weren't sure we would win the title. We knew that we could do much better in the previous matches compared to what we were able to produce. We put in the necessary ingredients to make the match easy today. As you said, we controlled the match from start to finish, the tactics were very clear, and the preparation for the match was good.”

Hyper aggressive, they admit that they could have modified the defensive aspect in case of difficulty, with more time to lob. However, plan A was very effective today because “we were at the net all the time and we found solutions to get it back.”

Very serious when they play in France, they have not suffered a defeat in three years, with the exception of a set lost against Lucile and Jessica: “We want to do the right thing. We don't come to France thinking it will be easy. All the matches are difficult and the girls are progressing. You need regularity, consistency and concentration.”
