After a one-sided final in favor of Coello/Tapia at P1 in Acapulco, the partnership of Juan Lebron and Alejandro Galan officially ended this Monday. The two men will begin a new phase in their respective careers after four years of an explosive association.

Success from the start

At the end of 2019, Juan LeBron has just arrived at the top of the circuit alongside Paquito Navarro, while Alejandro Galan had a great season alongside experienced players like Juani Mieres and Pablo Lima. In this context, the two Spaniards, who belong to the same generation, decided to form a new team whose immense potential could be imagined.

The first months of 2020 quickly confirm expectations. In a season disrupted by the pandemic, El Lobo and Galantico won the trophies and established their hegemony on the circuit, leaving only crumbs for the other big names. The two Iberians reached first place in the world in the ranking, a position they retained for more than three years.

Last year, the domination of the Spanish team ended with the emergence of Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia, arch-dominators at the start of the season. Hampered by an elbow injury, Juan LeBron is forced to abandon his partner for a few weeks who will play a few tournaments with Jon Sanz.

The return of El Lobo will offer a more than honorable second part of the season to the pair who will glean titles, get the best of Coello/Tapia on several occasions and enter the Master Final. However, the two men have indeed relinquished their throne, and they were firmly expected in 2024 to set out to reconquest…

A rushed finish

After a 33rd and final trophy won in Riyadh, the controversy at the Qatar Major got the better of the Hispanic team. It must be said that in four years, the two men have experienced their share of scandals which may have tarnished their image, like the final of the Chile Open last year for example.

A more than disappointing ending when we see the quality of padel that the two men still produce together. Moreover, given the level displayed by the pair, it is not excluded to see them again one day together in the future, after having allowed time to breathe a little each on their own.
