Here is a sujet très intéressant that we allow ourselves to raise. Are assimilations only reserved to the players of tennis or could they be extended to other sports ?

In this story, we don't have the final decision, but it is a subject we all deserve to address.

It all started with an explanation: what is the padel ?

In a discussion, we further explain what the padel ; It is a sport halfway between tennis and squash ... that means that tennis and squash players have the same ability to adapt to this game, right?

On a track of padel, how do these 2 profiles defend themselves? Tennis players have the advantage when playing on the fly or during smashes, but squas players gain the upper hand on bounces on windows and on muted balls.

Squash: a breeding ground for potential players

Squash is played indoors, padel can be played outdoors. This first asset allows squash players to come and take the air, especially in summer.

Then, the first category players are people who have an interesting vision of the game and who could bring a new air, a different identity to the game. padel. Why not invite them by assimilating them?

Why assimilate players?

To assimilate a player consists in giving a classification to a person who comes from another sport so that he is confronted in tournaments with people of his level.

So for tennis it is already done, but for other sports like squash, it is not. Why ? Because squash is not part of the French Tennis Federation on which the padel ? Maybe, but beach tennis is one of them. Don't beach tennis players have nice things to bring to the padel ?

But for which sports could we offer assimilation?

Of course tennis is the sport that deserved assimilation. Being part of the same federation, tracks of padel in tennis clubs, and a pool of players of several hundred thousand players, we could not miss it.

Squash therefore would also be a complementary sport to padel which could deserve its place. We talked about beach tennis, but why not badminton, Basque pelota, touch tennis, racketball or even pickleball?

All these sports are racket sports, I am not talking about table tennis which is very different, which deserves that we talk about them, their elite players and their assimilation to padel.

What do you think ?
