It's not always easy to be an organizer in the world of padel current !

A complicated environment

Indeed, a “war” between le World Padel Tour et le Premier Padel has been raging since the arrival of the circuit managed by Qatar Sports Investments and could well lead to the disappearance of the WPT by the end of 2023. It is enough to see the number of foreign players who have turned away from the World Padel Tour, starting with the French n°1, Benjamin Tison, who explained that in his view the future of the padel professional would be done with Premier Padel.

Premier Padel could therefore eventually take the place of the WPT. The circuit can indeed count on a big partner, the FIP, and the recent change of direction of the ladies comes to add a little more weight to the domination of Premier Padel. An important page in the history of padel career is turning, and we are currently experiencing the transition.

It could even be that the war between the WPT and Premier Padel is an old case if we believe the recent statements of Ale Galan.

Promoters, an essential cog in the development of the padel

Remember that without a promoter, no stages, no circuits and no promotion of the padel professional, whether in France, Belgium, Sweden or elsewhere.

However, we do not yet know if three circuits will continue to coexist in 2024. Today it is therefore complicated to commit financially to the organization of a competition without really knowing what will happen next season.

Furthermore, between the WPT, Premier Padel and A1 Padel, we have three circuits which make the offer unclear and which somehow dilute the value of the product “competition of padel”. Not to mention that it is not always easy for fans to fully understand what level each tournament corresponds to.

You have understood it, it is currently not easy to be a promoter in the world of padel, we hope that the situation will evolve positively in the coming months so that the organizers can find some peace of mind.
