Presentation of the Lesigny Club

Yann Herve : “Our club, created in 1972, is an active member of the Lesigny Sports and Cultural Union (USCL). Since our founding, the priority areas have been training and competition. In this double capacity, we have accumulated numerous successes in different categories and are regularly ranked among the best in Seine-et-Marne, whether individually, among young people, adults or as a team. Several of our young people have also reached the finals or semi-finals at the French Championships in different age categories.”

Last season's performances

Yann Herve : “The 2022/2023 season was exceptional on several levels. Various Seine-et-Marne team champion titles were won in the 11/12 year old and 8/10 year old categories. Our women's 1 team moved up to National 2, a first for our club. In pre-national, the +35 women’s team also performed very well.”

William Solis : “Yes, and individually, we also had champions and finalists in Seine-et-Marne, particularly in the categories over 35 and over 40, for women and men. And for the first time, one of our young people joined the French team in his category.”

Development of padel

William Solis : “With a new management team, we have undertaken several initiatives to modernize the club. In addition to improving the quality of tennis infrastructure, such as the renovation of courts and the creation of a clubhouse, the development of padel was the action with the most immediate benefits. After the construction of two fields of padel semi-covered, a third panoramic plot is planned. In 2023, we have many tournaments coming up for all categories and levels, including the first P1000 organized in Seine-et-Marne.”

The P1000 Lesigny Tournament by My Car

William Solis : “This tournament will be held on September 15, 16 and 17 and will be a major event. Many activities will be offered, including a draw to win a training course. padel in Spain, partner stores, a special evening and several types of entertainment for the family. The matches will be broadcast live by Padel Magazine. "

Prospects for the padel

Laurent Gauthier: “We are considering the creation of two new playing fields padel. Our ambition is to see our team 1, currently fifth in Regional 1, reach the regional final and why not, win the regions to reach the national level. For team 2, the objective is to advance to Regional 1.”

Yann Herve : “Among our 400 members, 300 are in tennis and 100 in padel. We hope to increase the number of members of the padel thanks to new offers like padel in business, a school of padel, competitions, private lessons and internships. We will also continue to place emphasis on training young people.”

William Solis : “To conclude, a big thank you to the town of Lesigny, its mayor Michel Papin, Mr. Francis Gallochat, president of the USCL, and of course, to all our members for their support.”
