Interviewed by Alice de Caunes during the Cupra Padel Point tennis Padel of Bandol, Marie-Amelie Dardaine reveals us its objectives and future challenges. Her international and national ambitions place her as a player to follow.

"I work a lot"

“This first half of 2023, I have worked a lot on my padel. The results are starting to come. I focused a lot on training and tournaments padel week ends.

The France team is getting closer, I can feel it. I want to have good news, I do everything for it. All this project is for that, to achieve this objective and to be part of the France team, even if I know that the competition is important.

Moreover, I will be seen more and more internationally. For example, in August I will do two FIP Tour tournaments. And the idea would be to do a few a month.

Internationally, I don't have a fixed partner, I'm going to tour a lot. We will see based on the results.”

Well-organized tournaments in France, less internationally…

“I come from tennis and I find that French tournaments are generally well organised. The fact of coming for two days on a test of padel, It is a very good thing. In tennis, in general, it's one match per day, so it's more expensive on all counts.

On the other hand, on the FIP Tour, it's more complicated… We know that tournaments can evolve, cancel each other, change, not to mention that there are sometimes programming problems. I hope this will evolve.

His fondest memory in the padel ?

My first victory in P1000, with Louise Bahurel in Créteil last January. We beat Mélissa Martin and Amélie Detrivière when we weren't favourites. There was really intense joy after this final and this victory. It is today the most beautiful memory that I have in the padel.

A change in match preparation

I had no routine in the padel until January 2023, where now, I warm up, I train before a game. It's a good resolution.

Retro cushioning…

There's one shot I like, and that's the retro drop shot. And the icing on the cake is when she walks out the door. When I can't make this move during a match, I'm bound to be dissatisfied. (laugh)
