Le World Padel Tour Master Final 2022 will be the last professional tournament for Marta Marrero, who has announced that she will take a break after the competition.

As she explains in her Instagram post, the 39-year-old player has decided to temporarily retire from the slopes of padel after the Master Final which begins in Barcelona in just over a week and that she will play with Lucia Sainz.

For the fans it's necessarily a little surprise since Marrero is still ranked number 7 in the WPT ranking and she has seemed quite comfortable last week in Menorca. But the former professional tennis player, who had become a player of padel eleven years ago, feels it's time to put his family first, after 31 years of top sport.

In her press release, she explains that she wants to be closer to her loved ones and wishes to expand her family, but promises that she will be back.
