On the occasion of the second edition of Sports Management Trophy, Padel Magazine spoke with Nathalie Fernandez, one of the representatives of the Mauguio club. The entertainment manager returned to the history of the club, her role within it, but also to her past as a volleyball player.
A first participation in the Trophée Gestion Sports
Yes, it's the first time and it's really exceptional! There is nothing to complain about, everything is absolutely perfect, a good atmosphere…

Volleyball before padel
I played volleyball a long time ago and it was my husband who introduced me to padel. I tried two or three times and then it became a total addiction. And now I have been playing regularly at the Mauguio club for three years.
I am also part of the office, for two years, I take care of the animation. We try to do what we can with the means we have.
At 100 an hour at Tennis Padel Mauguio Club
The club went from two to five tracks. Competitions are organized, we try to do all possible tournaments because there is a lot of demand and we also do entertainment like for Halloween with non-approved tournaments in disguise, to offer a little diversity!

A development yet to come?
We would like a sixth pitch, but it is still under discussion with the town hall. The Mauguio club will also be present again next year at the Trophée Gestion Sports with the same team, and if we can do more, we will take more.
Animation manager, a complicated role?
In the office, we are only five people. We would like there to be more because we are volunteers and that takes up a lot of our time. That's what would be missing, a few more people in the office so that we can really share the tasks and be able to have a little open and fun animations.
The animations are also done in part thanks to the Sports Management software that we use. I will admit that at the start, we were a little reluctant because of this “loss of the human relationship”, but this software allows you to be independent, to book and therefore to save time.
Out of the question to leave Gestion Sports, and especially the Trophy. Next year, aim for first place!
What a pleasure to be a journalist in the padel world, an attractive sport in full expansion. I hope you enjoy the content offered. See you soon on the slopes!
