This is the big news of the week! the World Padel Tour offered a new formula players to try to keep them under contract after 2023.

First, the circuit has decided to increase the prize money significantly from next year. On average, the WPT plans to double the current awards for ladies. For men, they can even be multiplied by more than five for certain tournaments!

And to try to ensure that the players sign the contract as soon as possible, the WPT does not hesitate to offer much more interesting conditions for those who will commit for the next five years. First, those who sign now will receive the amounts planned for 2023 from the next tournament.

And for those who still haven't joined at the start of next season, the rewards will be greatly diminished. Here is what is planned for the winners of women's tournaments (amounts per player):

  • World Masters Final: €85 if registered; €000 otherwise
  • Big: €30 if subscribed; €000 otherwise
  • Open 150: €15 if subscribed; €000 otherwise
  • Open 60: €5 if subscribed; €000 otherwise

As you will have understood, the proposal is much more interesting for those who agree to commit as quickly as possible to the World Padel Tour for the next five years (and to play a minimum of 15 tournaments per season).

It remains to be seen whether this will be enough to motivate players to continue the adventure with the WPT...
