As the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 reaches its climax, Premier Padel hosted the first-ever “Legends” tournament at the spectacular Waldorf Astoria hotel in Lusail.

At the invitation of Premier Padel and the president of PSG, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, former stars of professional football, personalities from sport in general and from the business world, as well as the best players of padel locals, have teamed up to play a knockout tournament. A total of 20 pairs were present.

The tournament ended with the final victory of Vincent Candela and his partner Khaled Saldoon, against Marco Materazzi and his partner Mohammed Abdullah, in a final decided by tie-break (7-5). As a reminder, many former football stars have participated in the tournament such as Ronaldo, Francesco Totti, Iker Casillas, Gabriel Batistuta, Christian Vieri, Alessandro Del Piero, Clarence Seedorf, Patrick Kluivert...

The notoriety and sporting pedigree of the spectators off the pitch was almost equivalent to that of the players on the pitch. There were notably Arsene Wenger, Kaka, David Dein, or even Nadia Nadim.
