Holders of a wild-card for this Mendoza P1, Gonzalo Alfonso and Juani De Pascual got off to a flying start by eliminating Lamperti/Perino.

It was one of the most anticipated matches of the first round, and it gave us the first little surprise of the competition. Indeed, somewhat against all odds, Alfonso and De Pascual, who form the third pair of the A1 circuit Padel, eliminated their compatriots Miguel Lamperti and Denis Perino.

If the latter did not arrive with full confidence after losing 6/0 6/0 against Coello / Tapia in Malaga, they still left with the status of favorites at the start of the meeting. We are still talking about a pair that beat Momo Gonzalez and Sanyo Gutiérrez in Rome a few weeks ago!

But on the track, nothing went as planned for Miguel and Denis, who suffered the law of a pair who played their luck thoroughly. After a hung first set, the outsiders unfolded in the second round, winning in the end 7/5 6/1.

A success that will allow them to compete against Juan Cruz Belluati and Javi Ruiz in the next round, and which should revive the debate on the differences in rankings between circuits among fans!
