Fernando Belasteguín and Arturo Coello won last night the first edition of the Premier Padel Mexico Major. The Argentinian and the Spaniard beat Sanyo Gutiérrez and Agustín Tapia in three sets (6-3, 3-6, 6-3) in the final, thus winning their first tournament Premier Padel. The final, played in front of Mexican fans at GNP Stadium in Monterrey, proved to be thrilling.

The fourth Major of the season was thwarted by the weather: earlier this Sunday, Sanyo and Tapia had won the first semi-final, postponed to Saturday due to rain, winning 6-2, 6-7, 7-5 against Chingotto/Garrido. Bela and Coello were them overcame Di Nenno/Nieto in two tight sets (7-6, 6-4). The latter therefore played their second final on the circuit Premier Padel, after seeing the trophy slip away from them in Mendoza, in favor of Stupa and Lima. But this time, Sanyo Gutiérrez and Agustín Tapia could not prevent the “boss” and his young partner from being crowned.

Fernando Belasteguín praised after the match the “efforts of the organization and the players [note: facing the weather conditions]. I'm very happy and I can finally feel good after winning my first championship. Premier Padel". We have to believe that his 62 tournaments won on the WPT are not enough for this insatiable 43-year-old champion!
