The Spanish daily MalagaHoy has just revealed the details of the future tennis/padel club in Malaga that will be built under the aegis of Rafael Nadal. This sports complex should accommodate nine padel courts in addition to the twelve tennis courts including a central 3-seat court.
This project, which is still the subject of a call for tenders in order to obtain the concession of customs duties, will be carried out by Sierra Blanca Estates and will be located on public land next to the Palacio de los Deportes José Maria Martin Carpena. The promoter of the agency accurately described the future facilities of this club:
"The future Club Rafa Nadal de Malaga will include semi-covered clay courts, outdoor hard courts, numerous padel courts, a central court with stands to host sporting events, an outdoor swimming pool and a multi-purpose building that will include facilities such as a fitness and crossfit area, a sports shop, a restaurant, a spa and a museum dedicated to the figure and career of Rafael Nadal, among others."
It would be the fifth club in the world bearing the name of Rafa and having these characteristics after Mexico, Greece, Kuwait and the United States. There Rafael Nadal Academy also has six padel courts in Manacor.
