The years go by and look almost the same. For this first stage in Saudi Arabia, Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia will face the “Galacticos” Juan Lebron and Ale Galan in the men's draw, while Ari Sanchez and Paula Josemaria will face Delfina Brea and Bea Gonzalez in the women's.

In Riyadh, the fairy tale of Nachi Sager and Salvador Oria, the Spanish pair who started in qualifying, was interrupted in the semi-finals. Facing the favorites Coello and Tapia (TS2), who won four titles last season (Rome, Madrid, Mendoza and Paris), the 54th and 106th players in the world delivered an excellent first set but were broken in the sixth game of this first set: 6/3 in 31 minutes for the favorites. In the second set, the fatigue accumulated from the previous six matches took its toll on Sager and Oria, who were forced to retire as Coello and Tapia led 3-2 in service to follow.

Tapia and Coello, as in the 2023 semi-final in Mendoza, will face Lebron and Galan, the top seed of the tournament, who once again shattered the dreams of Franco Stupaczuk and Martin Di Nenno, already beaten in the P1 of Milan last December. Victory for Tapia / Coello in 3 sets 6/2 4/6 6/1 in 2 hours of play.

For the ladies, the two favorite pairs logically meet in the final. No surprises in this ladies table. After triumphing last season in Madrid and Milan, Brea and Bea pass the trap Jessica Castelló and Claudia Jensen (6), who eliminated Marta Ortega and Gemma Triay (3) in the quarter-finals. The “Superpibas” conceded for the first time to Riyadh more than two games in the same set, but they won the game relatively quietly: 6/4 6/3. Delfina Brea and Bea Gonzalez thus took their revenge against Jessica Castelló, who beat them in the quarter-finals last season in Paris.

Ari Sanchez and Paula Josemaria also won their match in straight sets, leaving no chance to Alejandra Salazar and Tamara Icardo (4): 6/3 6/3 in one hour and 13 minutes.

The women's final is scheduled for 17:00 p.m. followed by the men's. We could find this match live on Youtube on the channel Premier Padel, although we have not yet received confirmation.

Prepare the sandwiches, in 2023, against Ari / Paula in Madrid, Brea and Bea won 7/6 in the third set after an incredible match of 3 hours and 22 minutes…
