After a first part devoted to diamond-shaped rackets, Stéphane Penso returns with another series: palas in the shape of a drop of water.

Second part of the section OxDog with this time a focus on teardrop formats which are now represented by three very specific models.

These shapes have the particularity of being positioned in the middle between the diamond and the round. This calibration will be selected by those who do not want to make too many concessions between a lot of power and not enough maneuverability. We are therefore dealing with the segment most sought after by a majority of players, namely that of versatility.

HyperPro

Let's start with the Hyper-Pro, a warrior's soul with Mid+ foam (the 2nd densest in the house OxDog), as well as a validated head balance.

Compared to the Ultimate Pro, only the size and format differ, with the Hyper being 5 grams heavier. Otherwise, they are two similar palas, integrating all the characteristics specific to the brand. Here we are dealing with a model focused on power with obvious maneuverability that still provides as much pleasure with absolute typing comfort thanks to the VibraDamp & SilentSpeed systems put in place to stifle resonance at impact as much as possible and increase vibration absorption.

Here again we find the two-tone tones specific to the Nordic brand, deep black and pale yellow, which make it a very discreet but still beautiful racket.

Hyper Tour

THEHyper Tour is characterized by its soft rubber, and will therefore be related to the diamond-shaped Ultimate Match.

This model is very pleasant to play thanks to its remarkable typing comfort, and has one of the widest sweet spots in the range.
This is for me the best balance between control and power from the Hyper series, thanks to the PowerRibs located in the center of the tubular, and a balance with small onions.

The marriage of black and white creates one of the most powerful contrasts in terms of ennoblement, and the aesthetics of this racket will normally be unanimous among your friends.

Hyper Match

We end with theHyper Match, which is the heaviest pala of the trio, and which benefits from a foam at the crossroads of those of the two models seen above: neither too hard nor too soft, quite simply medium.

As for the extra five grams on the scale, that's not a lot, but it does provide a little extra stability and more weight transfer with each strike.

The design is also refined, with a marriage of black, which exudes a sophisticated side suggesting elegance and refinement, and red, a warm, prominent and dynamic colour.

Conclusion

A new time, OxDog was able to respond to a majority of players by offering three complementary references.

All the technologies of the Ultimate models have been carried over to this series, in particular the RBS, which will allow you to play with the scale, thanks to the famous little 8gr plate to be removed, or not, under the handle of the pala. The PowerRibs have been moved to the center of the frame to provide better balance. The 3D faces are still present as well as the rustic wrist strap.

THEHyperPro is a very powerful racquet with a pronounced balance that allows you to send stumps with authority (thanks to its dense rubber) and block opposing attacks with frankness.
It's a pala that will exploit its full potential on offense and I found myself directing my game more aggressively.

THEHyper Tour for its part benefits from a flexible core which gives it a certain comfort of play, without fatigue or muscular overwork. Less effort therefore at equal power in the low and medium intensity game phases for an equivalent ball output. I liked this reference for its reassuring and non-oppressive side.

Finally, theHyper Match is a pala that mixes the resources of the two other models, the versatile reference par excellence, certainly the heaviest in the range. It will be appreciated by fellows looking for a versatile pala.

Soon, the three round-shaped models will close this series of tests!

Technologies Oxdog

As a reminder, here are the technologies used by the brand:

  • Vibra Damp : technology used in the grip area in order to absorb vibrations. First, the carbon used in this piece has a layer of fiberglass. Then four guides covered with silicone strips were included. Finally, there is a double-sided handle with an EVA rubber part in the center.
  • Silent Speed : The sound when hitting the ball is significantly lower. The combination of carbon with railed frames means the racquet doesn't make as much noise, especially on diamond shaped palas.
  • Power Ribs™: these are rails that penetrate the frame of the racquet and help to homogenize its surface as much as possible, reducing vibrations when hitting the ball and thus widening the sweet-spot.
  • HES-Carbon : this unique carbon reacts more quickly and transfers maximum energy in speed and power, in addition to providing increased durability. The unique carbon and resin manufacturing process Oxdog optimizes fiber performance and is particularly effective in extreme blows.
  • Dural Molded : With a focus on the tooling and production process, frames deliver class-leading performance and durability, PowerRibs™ optimize them even further.
  • DSH Dual : Double diameter drilling system in which the holes closest to the frame are larger than those in the center of the racquet, which allows to widen the sweet-spot.
  • RBS – The 8gr stainless steel weight located in the handle can be removed very easily using a screwdriver and allows those who wish to modify the point of balance.
