Before tackling a long season of snowshoe testing with the new 2023 models that will be arriving very soon, let me tell you about the new shoe. Jet Haste II from home Babolat, which year after year literally amazes me thanks to flawless design, harmonization in the technologies used, and intelligent partnerships.

Babolat never stop innovating

The Babolat Jet Premura are very specific shoes, as they were created exclusively for the padel. The first model was born in 2019. A few years later, Babolat continues to renew this series in order to present an improved version each season.

Thanks to the brand's desire to create shoes that are best suited to this sport, they have worked in collaboration with their players and society. Mondo, manufacturer of synthetic turf for football pitches padel, to create a sole that best meets the needs of players of all levels.

The main innovation is in the outsole: initially, the front part of the sole has been added two flex grooves to allow the foot to have a maximum ground contact area, which improves movement speed.

Secondly, the design of this outsole has been modified: exit the classic clay herringbone and welcome to a composition made of studs et rafters reworked to match the two surfaces used for the practice of padel. These small studs will improve grip on new generation grass and the chevrons will improve grip on “sandy carpet”.

Outstanding support, thanks to its woven upper Matryx, which has evolved in order to benefit from minimal compression thanks to the addition of lateral filaments which will hold the foot, 360° flexion on the forefoot and a Michelin sole, 100% adapted to the movements of the foot. padel, allow you to feel and anticipate each exchange.

The cushioning has been moved to the rear to better absorb impact in the heel thanks to the technology KPRS-X, improved version of Kompressor.

A shoe designed by the players of padel for players of padel. Let’s now take a closer look at the different technologies used.

MATRYX EVO

This model embeds the famous technology MATRYX EVO , which was also present in the previous version. It is a high-tech technical fabric made of woven Kevlar and polyamide yarns, which has been developed and patented in collaboration with Chamatex, a French company (based in Auvergne Rhône Alpes) expert in the development of technical fabrics performing.

The fabric created has more rigid filaments, which offer better support to the feet. In this way, the player will be able to have greater stability, especially in the lateral supports. Offering greater resistance over time, the exterior of the Jet Premura II does not lose breathability, because unlike fully coated textiles, here each thread is individually coated for unparalleled breathability (fewer components for more lightness) .

This technology is much more resistant than a mesh thanks to a weave combining high tenacity yarns with technical yarns. During intense efforts, your feet breathe and stay dry: perspiration is therefore evacuated in the best possible way.

Damping KPRS-X

It is one of the most important parts of shoes. The KPRS-X midsole, already present in previous versions of the Jet Premura, was once again chosen. Indeed, the French firm has reincorporated it in the most recent version due to its great success and acceptance by players.

It is an Eva midsole, the most used foam to absorb shocks of different intensities. This material offers two benefits, the first of which is absorption to reduce impact and increase comfort. The second advantage is that in addition to this great resistance and stability, the exterior of the Babolat Jet Premura II does not lose breathability.

There are areas of breathable fabric, so that the air circulates better and the feet stay dry at all times. In addition, the outer construction is also elastic, for better mobility during the game. The energy return by optimizing the cushioning in the heel, will propel the player forward for faster and more explosive movements.

Michelin rubber outsole

Two areas of expertise: Michelin and Babolat, for a sole adapted to each size.

Michelin and Babolat have been working closely since 2003 to expand the range of shoes Babolat. Founded at the end of the 1875th century – in XNUMX for Babolat and 1889 for Michelin – these two French companies share the same objective on this product: to manufacture the ideal shoe for players of padel.

The new S-shaped crampon allows fast and multidirectional movements. We benefit from a reinforced resistance during displacements thanks to an exclusive formulation of rubber.

This sole was made by Michelin, a multinational famous for its tires and rubber products. This is a guarantee that the sole is durable and hard-wearing, but also that it can provide flawless traction at any intensity. An added benefit of the sole is that the side sections extend to cover part of the upper. This improves stability and prevents twisting of the side supports.

360°FLEX

360° FLEX is a technology designed and developed specifically for the padel.

The front part of the sole has three large flex grooves that will facilitate movement and allow more of the foot to be on the ground for more responsiveness. It combines maximum flexibility, thanks to its specific design, and flexion thanks to a fabric with a Matryx zone and a grooved insole.

This technology brings maximum flexibility to the forefoot, perfect for the particular movements of the padel.

ORTHOLITE insole

It is basically a sole made up of open-pore polyurethane. To put it simply and colorfully, it's a memory foam membrane for immediate comfort. This honeycomb sole wears out less quickly than traditional soles, draining moisture more easily and absorbing impacts better.

Wondering what the benefit of Ortholite technology is? In reality, there are many interests in exploiting this technology, whether in terms of performance but also in terms of health. The composition gives you lightness and greater breathability for your feet.

Here is a list of the main advantages:

  • 95% of damping capacity retained after one year of use
  • Humidity and heat controlled in the shoe
  • Odor control
  • Anti-microbial biocide treatment
  • Light

Finally, the shoes Babolat equipped with this technology will allow you to protect your feet from heat and humidity, protecting against bacteria and other fungi while improving your performance thanks to shock absorption!

On track !

Stephane-Penso-news-Babolat-Jet-Premura-II

We are dealing with exceptional comfort, optimal support and excellent general ventilation.

The shoes are light (345 grams for a size 45), which will have the effect of giving speed and liveliness.

These shoes have spectacular cushioning (heel and forefoot), which is essential for the practice of padel with repeated jumps and landings. It's just perfect if you want comfort and prevent the onset of injuries.

I greatly appreciated the quality of the cushioning, which at the same time retains enough firmness and does not take away from the shoe's dynamism.

Attention tennis players, the grip is superior and you will have to be careful because Nadal-style slides will be a little more difficult to perform.

En conclusion

It's a no-fault on the part of Babolat, which year after year improves its flagship model thanks to judicious choices and high-tech components, in order to offer a quality shoe that meets the specific criteria of intensive use.

In addition to offering top-notch palas, the Lyon-based company also gratifies us with spectacular shoes from all points of view.

I expected no less, knowing the seriousness and the involvement of this company which has never disappointed me, and I say see you very soon to preview the new Viper 2023 palas!
